Measuring Your Dog
- Length. With your dog lying stretched out, measure from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail.
- Width. Measure shoulder to shoulder at the widest point, and allow extra if they sleep on their side or roll around.
- Add room. Add 8 to 12 inches for a cushion bed, or 5 to 8 inches for a bolster bed, whose bolsters take up part of the outside size.
- Measure twice. Measuring only while your dog is curled up is the most common reason a bed turns out too small.
