About the Cave Bed
The Cave Dog Bed includes an attached blanket that creates a covered, burrowed space where pets can tuck themselves in and feel protected. Underneath it is the same supportive, made-to-order cushion as our other beds, in your choice of fabrics.
Every bed is handmade to order in our Kansas City workroom, sewn from pre-washed upholstery-grade fabric with a removable, machine-washable cover, and backed by a one-year warranty. Ground shipping is free within the continental US.
Who the Cave Bed suits
Burrowers like Dachshunds, terriers and any small dog that sleeps under the covers are the natural fit for a cave dog bed. It also suits cats that like an enclosed spot.

Prices with the standard fill. Custom sizes, fill upgrades and waterproofing are priced as you design.
What size dog bed do you need? Measure your dog from nose to the base of the tail in the position they usually sleep in, add a few inches so they can stretch, and match that length to the sizes below. When in doubt, size up. Large dogs are covered through XX-Large, and if your dog is bigger still, or your space is unusual, choose Custom Size while designing and enter your own dimensions.

Yes — the blanket is attached along one edge so it stays in place while your pet burrows, and it comes off with the cover for washing.
Yes. The blanket lies loosely over the cushion rather than forming a rigid hood, so a pet can push out from any side.

A cave dog bed is a cushion with a structured hood over it, made for pets who like to burrow under a blanket. The hood gives a sense of security while staying open for easy access and airflow.
Yes. Unzip the cover, take the insert out, and wash the cover on a delicate cycle in cold water with a mild detergent such as Woolite. Line dry only; a hot dryer can shrink or fade the fabric. Fabrics are pre-washed before sewing to minimize shrinkage.
Choose premium fiberfill or memory foam for the cushion when you design the bed.

LOVE THIS DOG BED! We've had a few dog beds for our Westie, and not one has compared to this bed. I just took it all apart to wash it and was amazed by the quality of craftsmanship when putting it back together. Love that I can choose my own fabrics, the bed size and style options, the craftsmanship, AND that you can monogram it! Our dog loves this bed and is in it constantly. I just designed a second bed for a different area in our home, and it's in my shopping cart!

Alisa was fantastic to work with, and we absolutely love our new dog bed cover! Our old cover had holes in it, but we wanted to keep the bed because it belonged to our previous dog who has passed. Alisa not only made a custom size for us, but she helped us when we picked some fabrics that did not have the same base tones. She let us pick new options, and the cover looks amazing. Our current dog Ash has barely gotten off of the bed since it arrived. He loves it, and it looks wonderful! We will be purchasing more beds from Alisa - I cannot recommend her enough!
